is a youth organization based in Marawi City, Philippines. It is composed of Young Leaders and Volunteers from different places in Mindanao, specifically from places where armed conflicts are very evident such as in Lanao del Sur and Marawi City. Despite the diverse backgrounds of each members, their passion in attaining the 17 Sustainable Development Goals by 2030 braced them together to empower the youth; develop and implement capacity and peace-building programs; and promote the Maranao culture as a whole to foster understanding and achieve sustainable peace in the Philippines and in the whole wide world.
History
The organization started as a group with five members on July 28, 2018 in a peace camp in Davao City, Philippines. Since then, their leader, Bin Nur Asi Magangcong, a resident from Marawi City and a student of Mindanao State University-Main Campus, after implementing their very first project, Lanao: Singa Ka Man! Project (literally means "make some smile!") and saw its impact on the IDPs Children (IDPs or Internally Displaced Persons are the evacuees displaced during the Marawi Siege), their smiles from ear to ear, the sounds of their laughter and their parents supportive "woes" made him wonder, "what could be possibly be there to maintain that scene?". Then it hit him, he decided not to stop there, he wanted to maintain that smiles and pursue more projects to even grow that smiles.Global Marawi now becoming an organization with 15 members, students and young professionals, from different places in the Philippines aiming to attain the 17 Sustainable Development Goals by 2030.
